Claudette Colbert
Claudette Colbert was an American stage and film actress.

Colbert began her career in Broadway productions during the late 1920s and progressed to motion pictures with the advent of Talking pictures. Initially associated with Paramount Pictures, she gradually shifted to working as a freelance actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in It Happened One Night (1934), and received two other Academy Award nominations. Other notable films include Cleopatra (1934) and The Palm Beach Story (1942).

Colbert was known for a versatility that led to her becoming one of the industry's best-paid stars of the 1930s and 1940s and, in 1938 and 1942, the highest-paid star. During her career, Colbert starred in more than 60 movies.

In 1999, the American Film Institute posthumously voted Colbert the 12th-greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema.

Raised in lower Park Heights, Baltimore, Maryland. She attended school #59, Garrison Junior High and Forest Park High School. She is a graduate from the University of Maryland with a degree in early childhood education. She taught kindergarten until the birth of her daughter Nancy in 1957.
She met her husband Maurice at Beth Tfiloh on Yom Kippur. She thought that he was "swell". They married on June 29, 1952. After the birth of her children, she became involved on the Board of Hebrew School PTA, and the financial and coresponding secretary at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, for their sisterhood. She was a lifelong member of Miriam Lodge, KSB and Triad Guild, both philanthropic organizations.
She loved playing Mah Jongg, going out with friends, exercising at Life Bridge and attending shabbat services. She was a wonderful and caring wife and mother.

Ernst Weber (September 6, 1901 in Vienna, Austria – February 16, 1996 in Columbus, North Carolina), Austria-born American electrical engineer, was a pioneer in microwave technologies and played an important role in the history of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, where in 1945 he founded the Microwave Research Institute (later renamed the Weber Research Institute in his honor). Weber was also the first president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and one of the founders of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE)

Profile of Ernst Weber, first president of the IEEE and president emeritus of Polytechnic University. For his pioneering research in electromagnetic fields, linear and nonlinear circuits, and microwave measurements, Weber was awarded the National Medal of Science by President Reagan in 1987. Throughout his life Weber worked to build bridges between different cultures: between European electrical engineering and American electrical engineering, between industry and academia, between engineering and physics, and between the AlEE and the IRE.
